MY LIFE IN CHRIST
If our religion is really our life and not merely something extraneous tacked on to it, it must necessarily go into every aspect of our life; and no act, however human or natural it may be, can be taken out of its control and guidance.

Gal. 2:16-20 Luke 8:5-15 (Parable of the Sower)
“ It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me,” Gal. 2:20
St. Paul the Apostle spoke these words not of himself, but on behalf of everyone who has come to live by the faith of Christ and has been baptized in Christ. He says – I died with Christ in Holy Baptism, but not in order to be dead, but in order to live a different and more perfect life. I was crucified with Christ, and Christ quickened me by His life: He began to live in me. This life of Christ in me is expressed, above all in that I have given all of myself to Him, that I try to please Him in everything, think of Him, rejoice in Him, want to fulfill His word in every detail. I live as though my thoughts were those of Christ. Who lives in me, and as if my feeling were His feelings and my deeds were His deeds. Christ lives in me morally.

“O God, You have taught me from my youth and to this day I declare Your Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me until I declare Your strength to this generation and Your power to everyone who is to come,” Psalm 71:15-18.

COMMEMORATION OF THE FATHERS OF THE 7TH
ECUMENICAL COUNCIL
The Holy Fathers who were instrumental in condemning the iconoclasts and who gave their approval to using ikons in the Orthodox Church. This Sunday is somewhat overshadowed by the Sunday of Orthodoxy perhaps because of its place on the Liturgical Calendar of our Church.
Every Ecumenical Council signified a victory of Orthodoxy over certain heresies. It was never easy to defend the truth and its triumph was always the result of great feats of faith. Our Holy Church wants us to remember the Holy Fathers of this Council because it was this Council that dealt the heaviest blow to iconoclasm and was the end of the era of Ecumenical Councils. Every heresy which appeared after that could be refuted with help of the dogmatical decisions prepared and accepted in those golden days of the development of Orthodox theology (325-787).
The heresy of iconoclasm was one of the most dangerous in the history of the Church. Not only because of the century-long struggle which had preceded the final decision that ikons could be used but an almost over looked fact is that this heresy was undermining the concept of man as an image of God!
A PLACE OF PRAYER AND WORSHIP
Please enter and exit the Church in Silence. The Church must be a place of prayer at all times. It you wish to greet one another, a simple bow of the head is all that is required. If you must speak to someone do so in a whisper; but if you find you have a need to converse with someone, please do so outside the Church building. In this way we preserve the Holiness of the church, giving honor to God who is always present in the Holy Temple and affording respect to those who have come to pray.
WINTER GRACE
How soon we take living for granted. We breathe in the air of life day after day...and we come to expect it. We count on the hours of sleeping and working, of eating and drinking and laughing, of savoring goodness and gladness of being alive.
And the miracle of life becomes commonplace!
Then, we get a reminder. A serious illness or a visit to a sick friend or reading the name of an acquaintance in the obituary column, then we are caught up in fresh realization of the fine line between life and death. We sense once again the joy of life and good health, the beauty of loving and being loved, of good talk and good companions, of music and color and feeling. We rediscover the crimson face of a rose.
Life is a gift not to be valued lightly, for it is a gift of God. He sustains the life we live this very minute. He watches over the future. Live Life!
